Been feeling cooped up in lockdown? Want a challenge to really stretch your legs?

SARSVL is looking for dedicated supporters to raise money by running the upcoming RunForAll Leeds 10K, Leeds Half Marathon and Yorkshire Marathon 2021!

SARSVL is the dedicated rape crisis centre for Leeds, providing specialist, trauma-informed, support to survivors of sexual violence via advocacy, counselling, and a helpline, at any time in their lives.

As a small independent charity, we are reliant on donations and fundraising volunteers to support us in providing these crucial services:

• £475 pays for eight face to face sessions of trauma informed therapy with a specialist qualified counsellor
• £45 pays for a survivor to access a specialist advocacy session with an interpreter
• £15 pays for childcare to enable a survivor to attend a face to face session
• £4 pays for a helpline volunteer to support a survivor over one session via phone, email or SMS text message

According to UN Women UK, 97% of women and girls aged 18-24 have experienced sexual harassment at some point in their lives. According to the ONS, nearly 1 in 4 women have experienced sexual assault or attempted assault since the age of 16.

Demand for our services is incredibly high, and we need your support.

WHAT: We have 10 sponsored race places to fill at both the Leeds Half Marathon and Leeds 10K on 5th September 2021. It’s £25 to book a place, and a fundraising goal of £150 per runner.

HOW: Book via the below Eventbrite pages to pay the £25 booking fee to secure your sponsored race place. We’ll issue you with a pin for the RunForAll portal to register your place, support you to set up a JustGiving page to share with friends and family, keep in touch with you in advance of the race with fundraising tips, and share your progress on our social media!
