Been feeling cooped up in the cold weather? Want a challenge to really stretch your legs?
SARSVL is looking for dedicated supporters to run the RunForAll Leeds 10K on the 3rd July 2022!!!
SARSVL is the dedicated rape crisis centre for Leeds, providing specialist, trauma-informed, support to survivors of sexual violence via advocacy, counselling, and a helpline, at any time in their lives.
As a small independent charity, we are reliant on donations and fundraising volunteers to support us in providing these crucial services:
• £475 pays for eight face to face sessions of trauma informed therapy with a specialist qualified counsellor
• £45 pays for a survivor to access a specialist advocacy session with an interpreter
• £15 pays for childcare to enable a survivor to attend a face to face session
• £4 pays for a helpline volunteer to support a survivor over one session via phone, email or SMS text message
According to UN Women UK, 97% of women and girls aged 18-24 have experienced sexual harassment at some point in their lives. According to the ONS, nearly 1 in 4 women have experienced sexual assault or attempted assault since the age of 16.
Demand for our services is high, and we need your support.
