Raise funds for Leeds dedicated rape crisis centre, providing support to survivors of sexual violence at any time in their lives
SARSVL is looking for dedicated supporters to run the RunForAll Leeds 10K and Leeds Half Marathon on 5 September 2021!
SARSVL is the dedicated rape crisis centre for Leeds, providing specialist, trauma-informed, support to survivors of sexual violence via advocacy, counselling, and a helpline, at any time in their lives.
As a small independent charity, we are reliant on donations and fundraising volunteers to support us in providing these crucial services:
- £475 pays for eight face to face sessions of trauma informed therapy with a specialist qualified counsellor
- £45 pays for a survivor to access a specialist advocacy session with an interpreter
- £15 pays for childcare to enable a survivor to attend a face to face session
- £4 pays for a helpline volunteer to support a survivor over one session via phone, email or SMS text message
According to UN Women UK, 97% of women and girls aged 18-24 have experienced sexual harassment at some point in their lives. According to the ONS, nearly 1 in 4 women have experienced sexual assault or attempted assault since the age of 16.
Demand for our services is high, and we need your support.
