Taste of Recovery 

The Taste of Recovery is a guided support programme created for survivors of trauma by a survivor of trauma. It explains the nature of trauma, how sexual violence impacts on a survivor, and offers various strategies and resources to help you in your recovery.

Content

  • Common responses to trauma
  • Tools and strategies for helping yourself in times of need (i.e. during a flashback or anxiety attack)
  • Building resilience for the future

The Mind Body Foundations complements the Taste of Recovery programme, via five ten minute videos exploring different ways to improve your wellbeing

Program Structure

  • Duration: The program lasts for three weeks.
  • Daily Lessons: Each day includes a mini lesson that lasts no longer than 20 minutes.
  • Materials: Participants can watch videos, listen to audio, and complete workbooks. You can engage with the material at your own pace.

Who is the programme for?

Whilst Taste of Recovery was designed by Emily Jacob for women who have experienced rape as an adult, because that was her experience, the content is relevant to anyone who has experienced sexual violence, whether as a child, or an adult. While we believe that the resource contains lots of useful ideas and learning, you may find that not all the content is applicable to you. So do feel free to pick and choose what it useful to you as an individual
